Light Gauge Converter Foil
RAVIRAJ FOILS
LIMITED manufactures light gauge converter foil with the following
general specification. The final product specifications are made as
per agreed contract with the customers.
Foil Material
Aluminium alloy AA 8011, AA 1200 or AA 1235 confirming to Aluminium Association, USA specification.
Temper: Soft (fully annealed: 'O')
Surface: One side matt and other side bright.
Winding: Bright side out or dull side out.
Thickness: 0.007mm, 0.008mm, 0.009mm and 0.12mm.
Thickness Tolerance: +- 8% over nominal thickness.

On request, better pinhole count can be maintained.
Wettability (Surface Tension)
A to C or to withstand 68 to 72 dynes (i.e. 70 +- 2 dynes) on each surface of foil.
Stickness
Material shall fall freely on 1.5 m length load.
Splicing
Shall be made of smooth ultrasonic welding through out the web width.
Number of Splicing
Average
number of splices per roll shall not exceed 2 whereas maximum number of
splices in a roll is 3 and the permissible frequency of occurence
willnot exceed the limit shown below:

Identification of Joints
All splice joints will be flag marked for easy indentification.
Core Material: Alluminium or Steel.
Core Length & I.D.: Flush or Protruded with 76 mm or 152 mm ID
Reel OD : 450 mm maximum
Roll Width: 900mm maximum +- 1mm.
Finning
Finning caused by web misalignment shall not exceed 2mm and shall not occur more than once in every three rolls.
Indentification
Each reel is identified with a ticket having reel number, specification, operator number and manufacturing date.
Packing
Rolls
individually wrapped, placed in top bottom combination wooden boxes
with Silica Gel packets and making as specified by customer.
Test Certificates
Test
certificate incorporates (a) Thickness (b) Width (c) Wettability and
(d) Number of joints. Any other information sought by the customer can
also be given.
